Friends of the Archive Day

Saturday 19th July 2025

You are invited to join the Friends of the Archive Day which will be held between 2pm-4pm on Saturday 19th July 2025.

We would like to celebrate and take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generous support over the years of the Provincial Archives here at Moravian Church House in London and invite others who would like to learn more or have an interest about the work here.

There will be a talk about the work of Dr Keevill and his wife Addie who helped to establish the Sikonge Hospital in Tanzania in 1923 and will also showcase some of the wonderful treasures within our archives. Refreshments will be provided.

Summer Camp 2025 –  Could you be a Summer Camp Leader or Support Staff? 

Dates: 30th July - 4th August | Residential Event

We are seeking volunteer leaders for our 2025 Summer Camp, a fantastic opportunity to support and engage with young people (ages 10-18) in a faith-filled, fun environment.

1. Summer Camp Leader (Working with Young People)

Are you passionate about sharing God’s love with young people? We are looking for leaders to work directly with our campers, helping to plan and run games, activities, and film nights.

• No expectation to lead Bible Studies in your first year, but you will support sessions.
• Requires an active Christian faith.

2. General Camp Supporter (Behind-the-Scenes Role)

Would you prefer to support the smooth running of camp? We need practical, reliable volunteers to help with logistics, ensuring young people are in the right place at the right time, and keeping spaces tidy.

Requirements for Both Roles

✅ Volunteer position – travel expenses covered


✅ Attendance at pre-camp meetings/training is required


✅ Safer Recruitment process: application form, interview & two references (one from an employer/college or relevant experience)


✅ Safeguarding Training is essential: Basic training (two one-hour sessions) + role-specific camp training


✅ A DBS check is required

Moravians in Conversation is a group made up of sisters and brothers from across the Unity that meets four times a year to discuss topics of shared interest. The group is organised by Br Niels Gaertner from Herrnhuter Missionschilfe, the Moravian Mission Society in Germany. It is open to anyone who is interested.

I recently attended the planning meeting for 2025. The dates and topics will be:

• Wednesday 29th January at 2pm – Fear
• Wednesday 21st May at 2pm – The Nicene Creed (which is 1,700 years old in 2025)
• Wednesday 24th September at 2pm – Creation
• Wednesday 19th November at 2pm – The Kingdom of God

I will share the full details including Zoom links with all the ministers and church secretaries a few weeks before each meeting.

This group has been going for a few years now and is a fantastic opportunity to get to know and learn from sisters and brothers from around the world. I hope that you can join us.
