Welcome

This ecumenical church (Local Ecumenical Partnership) has diverse roots including the movement in the late 1950’s and 60’s of Moravians from the Caribbean. It rejoices in its mixed ethnicity and the opportunity to serve the surrounding community, now largely of Asian heritage.

The Birmingham Moravian congregation, formed in 1961, joined with Sparkhill United Reformed Church in 1975 to form Sparkhill United Church, which subsequently moved to share worship with Hall Green Methodist Church from 2008 becoming a Local Ecumenical Partnership in 2014.

Our aim is “To Worship God, To Know Jesus, To Serve Others”. In this we have so far been supported by ministry from the Moravian and Methodist denominations. We look forward in the coming months to sharing a minister from the United Reformed tradition with 2 other URC churches in south-east Birmingham.

We enjoy making our bright and renovated premises available to many organisations and activities during the week, in addition to running a Community Café and Stay & Play group ourselves. A Christian congregation has been based on this site since 1924, and we long through our worship, witness and service to introduce the living and loving God as a relevant reality to as many as possible.
