4 Thurs.

(Exodus 8. 16-32; Acts 2. 29-36)

I will heal their disloyalty; I will love them freely.
Hosea 14. 4

Send forth thy heralds, Lord, to call
The thoughtless young, the hardened old,
A wandering flock, and bring them all
To the Good Shepherd’s peaceful fold.

Send them thy mighty word to speak,
Till faith shall dawn and doubt depart,
To awe the bold, to stay the weak,
And bind and heal the broken heart. 671. 3, 4

For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls. 1 Peter 2. 25

Bring back all that go astray,
Heavenly Shepherd, to thy way,
Where the law which Jesus taught
Rules each word and deed and thought. 418. 2
