23 Tues.

(Exodus 15. 22-27; Acts 7. 44-53)

Turn back from your evil ways; for why will you die?
Ezekiel 33. 11

Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse and power to free:
Blessed Jesus,
Early let us turn to thee. 201. 3

Paul wrote: Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win it. 1 Corinthians 9. 24

Run the straight race through God’s good grace,
Lift up thine eyes, and seek his face;
Life with its way before thee lies;
Christ is the path and Christ the prize. 288. 2
