Brockweir, Chepstow - July 2026

As we look back over the past year in Brockweir, we are grateful for the many opportunities we’ve had to come together in fellowship, service, and outreach. It has been a year marked by warm community spirit and learning experiences that will help shape our plans going forward.

One of the highlights of the year as always, has been our soup lunches. These have been consistently well attended and have provided not only a warm meal but also a welcoming space for conversation and connection. It has been encouraging to see both familiar and new faces gathering around the tables, and we are thankful to everyone who helped prepare, serve, and support these events.

We also hosted a couple of afternoon teas which were also very well attended and offered a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was lovely to see people enjoying time together over tea, cakes, and good company. We hope to build on these gatherings in the future.

Our recent tabletop sale was another positive moment in the calendar. It brought members of the church and wider community together and helped raise useful funds for our ongoing work. Thank you to all who donated items, ran stalls, or came along to support the day and we hope to see you at the next one!

During the year we also launched a youth group. We were pleased to welcome a small number of regular attendees, and it was a joy to spend time with the young people who came along. However, after careful consideration, we recognised that the group was not currently sustainable. While this was disappointing, we are grateful for what was learned and remain hopeful that we can revisit this in the future as more families move to the area.

Our 5th Sunday Cafe church services where we join with another local church remain ever popular. This gives us a chance to gather in faith to worship together and enjoy some tea, biscuits, a spot of colouring or crafting and as always, a good word search while we do it.

None of these activities would have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the encouragement of the wider church family. Your time, energy, baking, cooking, setting up, clearing away, and quiet behind-the-scenes support have made a real difference.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we do so with hope and a continued desire to serve our community faithfully.
