Horton, Yorkshire - Easter 2026

Easter

We had a very busy time leading up to Easter Sunday with services, activities and fellowship so we could share the wonderful Easter story.

Sr Cathy Gledhill, from our sister church at Lower Wyke, led a craft activity at Ladies Fellowship making felt Easter eggs with each holding a small chocolate treat. Someone remarked that the group had never been as quiet as everyone concentrated on their sewing!

Next a craft morning was held, both inside and outside the church, where stone painting, chalking and other activities took place. Lots of (new to church) children and adults took part including locals from surrounding streets. Chalking on the pavement outside church was popular as was the stone painting on an Easter theme, with the stones put into the church garden for all to see and appreciate. A wonderful morning of outreach, fellowship and new faces.

Our traditional Easter joint service with Lower Wyke was held on Thursday evening including the sharing of food and our service on Friday, where we shared the readings, was thoughtful and reflective. On Easter Sunday we celebrated together the good news – ‘He is Risen – He is Risen indeed’.
